Timeless Tuesday

I have always had the desire to live in the time period of my Great Grandmother. Primarily for the clothes. The clothes were flattering on any woman's body type, and had a beautiful nurturing elegance about them. Which is everything a woman is. Not to mention they made the women sexy not in a provocative way, but in a mysterious way. In my opinion, a woman covered up in satin and lace is sexier than a woman hanging all out. The mystery of a woman is the way it should be. So here's to the vintage women in their delicate lace and charming ways, women like my beautiful Great Grandmother. In loving memory of Dulcie Frye.

The epitome of peace

I have no words for how much I need this cabin. Small, shabby chic, out in the woods, and all mine. This is my absolute dream sanctuary! This woman who refurbished it did an amazing job. Check it out! http://myshabbystreamsidestudio.blogspot.com/

Hoarding?

These are just a few examples of retro objects my mother finds for her Etsy business. Every week her and I go on a hunt for old anything. I find it to be a healthy way of hoarding. You have it for a while until it sells. It keeps your pocket full of money, your house free from clutter, and your heart happy from being able to go out and buy cool old pieces. If there are any hoarders out there, I advise that you start this particular type of hoarding. Its just healthier all around! Have a happy retro day. :)

Pink Pink Pink!

Have you ever just had those days when all you could think was pink? Today was one of those days for me. Anything I would pass by would make me think, "That would look much better if it were pink." I went through a time period where I couldn't stand the color pink. I rebelled against it. And now that I am back I must say that Pink, I will never leave you again!
Here's to all you pink enthusiasts! Keep with the pink.

All things Lavender

It is proven that Lavender is one of the best ways to naturally calm your nerves. How easy is it to just smell a stalk of Lavender?! This is why it is one of my favorite things. And of course because of its natural elegance, and its ability to make any room 10 times better. I hope to one day be an old lady with a garden and kitchen full of lavender.

Cafe de Paris

Treat yourself to something sweet! My favorite way to start off the day, is with a little chocolate, whipped cream, and maybe some homemade french marshmallows.

A little inspiration from Grandma.

Talk about a chandelier! I can see this in a bathroom, with a footed bath tub and miles and miles of bubbles. Maybe some french music playing in the background. And the vintage glam in me comes out.
In my opinion you can never have too many old bottles. They create a lot more interest in a space just by sitting there. What could be more easy than placing a bottle on a table!
This picture has such a Grandmother vibe to it, only with a little more pop and glam. I love old pictures that were made to look like they are new trying to be old. If that makes any sense at all.
